Like the Kelcie versus Viv match, this one comes on the heels of a lot of angry talk about the East Coast being inferior to the West Coast and tension filled the air. Unlike the prior match, these two did not have a grudge to sort through. Jayla will want to keep the momentum flowing for the East Coast Club as she takes on veteran Belinda who no doubt is trying to get the win for the West Coast Club heading into the Club Challenge Event. Only one will succeed!
Belinda (5’8 128 pounds 30 y/o) lives in Phoenix area. Belinda works as a mid-level executive in a large company. She is married and stays very busy with her job. Belinda was the social leader for her sorority in college and is a fan of having a good time. She is dedicated to being the best at everything she does. Belinda’s short interview response about why she would be a good Apartment fighter — “I have a lot of life experiences. I always find a way to win at whatever I choose to do. This is no exception. I’m competitive and can be a little nasty with my competitive nature. I don’t like to lose and I don’t like girl drama. All those things will make me good at Apartment fighting.”
Jayla (5’10 140 lbs 28 y/o) lives in Michigan. She currently is a competitive equestrian athlete. Her participation in those competitions means Jayla is very fit and ready to jump right on the rug. All of that working out to compete on horseback means she is in great shape. Jayla’s short interview response about why she would be a good Apartment fighter — “I am here to take the AWC by storm. In addition to my wrestling capabilities, I like to incorporate cat-fighting techniques in my matches. I’ll scratch, claw, pull hair, punch, kick, and bite. Any fighter who steps on the carpet with me had better be less concerned with winning the match and more concerned with her own survival.”
Both girls arrive at the fight location in advance of the fight and are shown to their respective dressing room areas. The crowd is particularly rowdy and fired up following the Kelcie and Viv match that concluded a bit earlier. The fighters can feel the excitement as they each prepare for the match. A short interview of each fighter is conducted and played on the screen for the fans to enjoy as they await the start of the fight.
Belinda is first to appear on the big screen. “Jayla looks like a very good newcomer. This match is going to be a challenge for both of us tonight. I think I will have what it takes to send her back to the East Coast Club with a loss. My experience on the rug should help me beat Jayla. Things see to have really gotten out of hand with this whole thing. I’m just looking forward to a good match where we both can fight fair and respect our opponent. These petty little games need to come to a close.”
Jayla appears as Belinda fades out. “I’m feeling really good about this match. I am ready and I plan to get a win for the club. The idea that we are not as good as the West Coast is crazy. My club needs the win and I plan to deliver it as part of getting things all set for the upcoming challenge matches I heard are being scheduled. Belinda seems cool enough, but she is going to have to take the loss tonight.”
Immediately following the interviews and before the fighters enter the arena a large TV screen on the wall broadcasts a short video segment of the Apartment Wrestling Internet Show featuring two of the hosts talking about the upcoming match. “This one is going to be a let down after all the hype, anger and tension of the fight we just watched. It will be a good match, just not as much publicity and anger going in. I think Jayla looks like she is going to be a tough one for Belinda to beat. Don’t count out experience, but I’m going Jayla tonight.” The second commentator chimes in “I hate to do it, but I’m going to agree with you. Belinda is a solid fighter, but Jayla looks like she is in much better condition and has the size advantage. That power is going to be too much for Belinda tonight.” The screen goes dark as the fighters come out of the dressing rooms to the main room.
Both fighters now enter the main arena room where the fight will be held. The room layout consists of a wide open space for the fighters. The crowd is buzzing with excitement and energy as they wait for the fighters to appear.
The officiator of the match calls out for everyone’s attention and introduces both fighter. The girls are brought out to the center of the room together and given a quick summary of the rules. “There are no rules for tonight’s fight other than no blows to the head other than an open-handed slap. The match will consist of one single fall by submission or knockout. The match will start when I say so and will not end until we have a submission.”
The officiator steps in to bring the match to a close as Jayla quickly dispatches a stunned a hurt Belinda. The crowd cheers loudly as Jayla comes to her feet to celebrate her win. After taking a moment to soak up the crowd’s cheers, Jayla reaches down and helps Belinda to her feet and gives the limping blonde an assist back to the bedroom area.
