Welcome to “What’s Happening in the Apartment” the internet show covering all things related to the Apartment Wrestling Club. As most of you know, I’m Dan Dawson and I have a lot of things to get you caught up on. The AWC World Championship Tournament continues to be filled with exciting, and in some cases, surprising outcomes. With another round of fights down, we are inching closer to finding out who is the world’s best apartment fighter. At the same time, new fighters are starting to appear and matching up with existing AWC fighters in an attempt to show they belong in the AWC. I’ll get you caught up on all those comings and goings and we’ll talk about the latest news and happenings in the Apartment Wrestling Club tournament.
First let’s talk about some of the new fighters we saw in action since the last show. Most of these new girls fought against existing club members in their introduction to the AWC. Surprisingly, the rookies fared pretty well in those matches. Luisa, Shriya, and Zarah all dominated their opponents on their way to convincing wins. Kelcie and Peyton managed to pull out wins in tough fights. At the end of the day, those tough wins may be more valuable experience than those girls who rolled through their first opponent for an easy win. Keisha and Dena found out the hard way just how uncomfortable it is to lose in the AWC. Sometimes that experience is enough to end a promising young career. Only time will tell whether those girls try another apartment wrestling match or if that’s the end of their careers.
Now onto the tournament. The next round of matches is set to take place in the coming days. Each of the fights will now follow a best of three falls or KO set of rules. Right now it’s down to the final twelve girls and after this set of four matches the field will be narrowed to the final eight. I know Callie, Molly, Bao, and Alessandra are eagerly awaiting the results of these fights to find out who they will be taking on in the next round. Here is how I see things shaking out:
Rebecca versus Tisha – This one is going to be interesting. If this fight goes through all three falls to decide the winner it is likely going to be Tisha. Rebecca has the ability to take two straight falls from Tisha and make this a quick fight. Her biggest problem is going to be that Tisha is a tough one to finish off. The longer the fight goes the stronger Tisha will get. Rebecca has shown a bit of a tendency to fade a bit in longer matches. For Rebecca’s sake I hope she spent some time working on her stamina. If not, she is going to end up face sat and submitted by Tisha.
Bailey versus Drury – The question for me when I look at this fight is whether Bailey can withstand Drury’s nasty style of fighting. Bailey is tough as hell and she is going to need every ounce of that toughness to withstand Drury’s attacks. Drury is going to be challenged by Bailey. She is tough and fresh off her season which means her conditioning is in top notch form. Both these girls have been impressive so far in their matches. This is going to be a close one and probably too close to call who is going to win it. My gut says Bailey is able to frustrate Drury and force a mental mistake that allows Bailey to get the win.
Jenny versus Sierra – My oh my. This one should be fun to watch. Sierra is well-rounded and has really been impressive in her matches so far. Jenny not so much, but she is big and strong. Sierra should be able to match that strength though which signals a real problem for Jenny. Jenny wins matches based on her size and her willingness to break the rules. That isn’t going to work against Sierra. This match just might be over in two straight falls with Sierra leaving Jenny broken on the rug.
Nissa versus Suzette – Something tells me this one is going to be a knock down drag out war. They both have a tendency to get rough and mean with their opponents and there is no reason to expect anything different in this fight. This is another fight that might be over in two straight falls or it could even end up with a KO ending someone’s night early. Predicting that is the easy part of this discussion. The hard part is figuring out which one gets beaten up and which one moves on to the next round. It really is a toss up to me. If I’m forced to pick a winner I would go with Suzette.
That’s all for now. I want to close out the show by wishing each of the eight tournament fighters meeting up on the rug good luck. By the time we get to the next show, there will be only eight left in the tournament. Until then, have a good evening.
